Chapter Leader Consideration

Posted By Aniya Stevens, Tuesday, January 16, 2018
I am currently a sophomore at Kent State University majoring in Early Childhood Education, with hopes to become a kindergarten teacher and to eventually earn my master’s degree in education. I am a proud African-American woman born in Youngstown, Ohio but raised in Cincinnati. I love and care for those that are around me, holding high standards for not just others but also for myself. I am a believer, who has pronounced ambition. A leader striving to be all that I can be, while serving as a role model for my culture and others. Notably I am Aniya Stevens. When I think of what it means to be a leader, I think beyond typical examples; the captain of a team or the manager of a store. Leadership is far more than a title, and can be demonstrated no matter who you are or what position you hold. A leader is confident, sets examples, and does what’s right regardless of the opposition. It is an individual who is passionate and dedicated to all of their involvements. A leader is not afraid of failure because a true leader knows that failure is a part of success.
