Introducing Myself

Hello, I recently transferred into the Doctor of Clinical Psychology program at Sofia University after attending Naropa University for two years in their Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. I already have a MA in Transpersonal Psychology and it became clear to me that given everything that is at stake it really made more sense for me to be working towards a doctorate as opposed to a second Masters. I also realized I wanted to do research into the mental health effects of gong meditation which is my passion. I currently work for the Director of Clinical Training, Dr. Kelly Yi, as the Clinical Coordinator. This work/study position in responsible for keeping track of the various documents needed by doctoral students when applying for licensure in the State of California after graduation. I also work in the Transformative Technology Lab as a Research Assistant under the mentorship of Dr. Jeffrey Martin. I personally find that being a member of Honor Society provides numerous opportunities to take advantage of scholarships, internships, and jobs that I would otherwise not have had access to. I am willing to take the step to start a chapter of one here at Sofia University in the hopes that others will find the possibility of becoming a member of Honor Society as compelling as I do. Stay tuned. Best regards, Karambir Singh Khalsa
